I did the research and I found one, just one article that compared Brie Larson to Jennifer Lawrence. Is was an article written in 2015 on Jezebel called “Is Brie Larson the new low-key Jennifer Lawrence?” It’s a solid read mainly because I 100% agree with it. I’ve been saying this ever since Larson won an Oscar and became huge. She’s effectively replaced Jennifer Lawrence. Don’t get me wrong, Jennifer Lawrence is still a huge star and will be competing for Oscars again soon, but Larson is definitely Lawrence 2.0.
Remember when Brie Larson was in 21 Jump Street? Do you realize how she looks absolutely nothing like that now? I don’t know if she’s gotten any work done or it’s just her age (kind of like when Mila Kunis came out of nowhere in Forgetting Sarah Marshall), but she’s clearly one of the hottest actresses out right now. The latest news on her has been on all the dresses she’s been wearing lately. There were even complaints of a dress she wore while promoting Kong: Skull Island on “The One Show” as being too inappropriate. Come on people. She’s a big star and that’s that. Nothing more and nothing less. Look at the picture. How is this even remotely inappropriate? Have you seen Sofia Vergara? I think people 100% overreacted. She’s wearing a dress. Give me a break.
But I will say this. Despite the fact that Larson and Lawrence are friends in real life, shouldn’t Jennifer Lawrence be just a tiny bit salty? The real answer is no because both are multi-millionaires and there’s plenty of room for both of them. But the ego answer is “yes, she should be a tiny bit threatened.” I mean we’re not even two years removed from when Lawrence was 100% the “it” girl and now Larson is the star of Kong? I don’t know Jennifer. You better come up with an Oscar soon or Larson will take the throne. Just saying…..
