Jeremy Davies Signs On For Season Two of “Justified”

The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Jeremy Davies (Lost, Rescue Dawn) has booked a recurring role on season two of FX’s Justified, as the new nemesis for Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant).

According to the article, Davies’ character Dickie Bennett is yet another old rival of Raylan’s. The smartest of three brothers, Dickie comes from another family that has a long history with the Givens clan, and has spent time in prison for dealing marijuana (which happens to be the family business). His problems with Raylan go way back: he walks with a limp following a high school fight with everyone’s favorite Harlan County marshal. Needless to say, he’ll have a very personal axe to grind.

Davies is best known to TV geeks as Daniel Faraday on Lost.

Considering that Raylan already has a heavy past with Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) and his family, one has to wonder just how many clans he’s mixed up with – to say nothing of the problems he has with his not so ex-wife Winona (Natalie Zea) and current love interest Ava (Joelle Carter). Obviously, our hero had quite the baggage he was leaving behind when he moved out of Harlan, and it’s going to continue to bite him in the behind. I just hope that it doesn’t detract from or copy too much of the existing great relationship between Boyd and Raylan and their respective families.

Are you excited about the casting news? Intrigued by the provided backstory? Sound off below. Justified returns with thirteen new episodes in February. You can view the trailer for season two here.
