Last night’s Keeping up with the Kardashians left off with Khloe at odds with her sisters. Scott’s paid appearance at the Sweet 16 party seemed to go off without a hitch and now he is throwing a big bash for the opening of his New York restaurant. And this event is at the heart of the conflict between Khloe and her sisters. Having just moved home from Dallas, Khloe needs time to settle her and Lamar in, yet her sisters want her in New York to support Scott.
Kim makes an appearance for the Dress for Success organization during which she is infamously flour bombed by an anti-fur zealot. Never one to back down from a job, Kim dusts herself off and gets back on the red carpet. We get a behind the scenes look at that newsworthy event. Kim seems to have laughed it off as her assistants blow dried the flour of her.
Kim tries to get to Khloe by tweeting childhood photos of them but it’s not getting her attention. She’s also ignoring their calls. Scott pays a visit to his restaurant to check on progress. He is dismayed that the work is not as far as long as it should be and worries the opening won’t happen. The pressure he feels is mostly Kourtney, who he feels he needs to impress. Rob calls Kim to ask her if she heard Kanye West’s song about her. Knowing that she has been hanging out with Kanye, Rob’s after the real scoop. Kim isn’t giving anything up, yet. Kourtney also tries to get it out of Kim when she sees that Kim borrowed one of his expensive cars. All Kim will admit is that Kanye will be join them in New York for the restaurant opening.
Khloe mentions the New York trip to Lamar who is totally excited about it. Khloe visits Kourtney’s house to share the good news. Kourtney tells Scott that everyone’s on board, but Scott shares his concerns about the timing. She’s worried for him but she hopes for the best. The Kardashians and Jenners hit New York but nobody can find Scott, for like, two days. Khloe thinks it’s rude that he’s avoiding everyone who came town just for him.
That evening, Rob and Scott hit the bars. Scott’s tired and stressed from getting the restaurant together and admits he hasn’t spoken to Kourtney since she arrived in the city. The next day at lunch Scott is a no show. Rob admits they were out all night. Kris tells Kourtney if she was in her place, she would tell him to hit the road. Finally Kourtney and Scott meet up in the hotel lobby. Kourtney has nothing much to say to him but Khloe questions why he’s running away from them. Scott shows his ‘˜whatever’attitude. Kris, Khloe and Rob are bummed about Scott’s behavior and Kim doesn’t even think he can pull off the restaurant opening. Rob challenges Kourtney about whether she forgives Scott for staying out all night, conveniently forgetting he was very much a part of it. He reprimands Scott for the way he treats Kourtney. Actually, Rob is feeling bad since he found out from Momager that his sock line was put on hold. And this is on account of him not getting his designs in by the deadline. Later on he admits to Kim he felt bad about being hard on Scott and it is due to his feeling of failure with this sock line. Kim tells him to put his own feelings aside and support Scott.
Soon the family turns its attention to Kim, and Khloe asks her outright about Kanye. Kim keeps insisting they are close friends and is no hurry because of her failed marriage. Kris is delighted that Kim seems so happy with Kanye. Khloe notices the diamond KW earrings and asks if Kanye is officially her boyfriend. Kim demurely says she doesn’t do titles. The night of the opening, Kanye arrives at Kim’s hotel room to pick her up. Scott is a bundle of nerves as the night starts to come together. He does the red carpet but just wants it to be over. The other Kardashians and Jenners hit the red carpet and Scott just hopes he can live up to expectations. The night goes well and it seems like the opening was a big success. While Kim and Kanye cuddle in a booth, Rob sits with Scott and offers an apology. As it turns out, Scott’s success motivates Rob to keep pushing with his sock line. Kourtney presents Scott with a promise ring while Kris rolls her eyes, not understanding why Kourtney seems to reward Scott for his bad behavior.
Next week, Bruce proves himself to be a nightmare to travel with. Keeping Up With The Kardashians airs next Sunday, July 16 at 9 p.m. (ET) on E!
