LaVar Burton is Getting Angry Tweets Meant for LaVar Ball

Poor LaVar Burton, to be lumped in with a guy like LaVar Ball has to be tough. And even worse is he’s getting a bunch of mean and nasty tweets intended for Ball, all because people can’t seem to appreciate the difference between their names. How hard is it to get these guys confused, really? One of them is nothing but mouth and nonsense, while the other was the host of the Reading Rainbow for a good amount of time, a show that actually has some use to the world unlike LaVar Ball. That might seem inordinately mean but the press surrounding the guy, and the fact that he seems to thrive on controversy and any type of attention he can get, seems to warrant the type of tweets that have been meant for him. Now if only LaVar Burton could get people to learn the difference.

Some of the tweets don’t make any sense, which is kind of common, while others are just flat out nasty and mean-spirited. The kind of shade that people are attempting to throw at Ball is definitely deserved, but Burton has had to deal with this kind of thing now for a little while and is obviously getting tired of it. When the POTUS even gets you confused with the guy that he’s at odds with then you know there’s trouble brewing.  Burton has been a standup guy so far throughout his long years as a star, especially when compared to Ball, and shouldn’t expect to just sit back and take this as the war of words between LaVar Ball and the rest of the world continues to keep mounting.

How does Ball get confused with Burton? They don’t sound the same, they certainly don’t look the same when you spell them out, and to be quite honest when you look at the two men the names are attached to they look nothing alike. They act nothing alike either. This is odd considering that we live in an age when Google is used for just about everything we do when we don’t know or understand something. How hard is it to look up either man and see that they’re either the one you’re looking to insult or the one that’s done nothing wrong and doesn’t deserve this kind of treatment? Ball has thrived on controversy and seems to enjoy every bit of vitriol that comes his way. After all it’s attention, and that’s what a lot people that act like him want.

Burton on the other hand has to just put up with the hate that’s being thrown his way that’s intended for Ball, kind of like one of those side walls in racquetball that gets all scuffed up and worn but isn’t the real target. Personally if I was Burton I think I’d be changing my Twitter handle and coming up with a different account so as to avoid getting any more social media hate mail. It seems like the simplest and least confrontational thing to do at this point. Because you know any confrontation is something that Ball will absolutely love.
