Last season on DC Television, we saw the launch of Legends of Tomorrow, which focuses on several fan-favorites of The Flash and Arrow as well as new DC Comics characters as they work with Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) to help save the world, through time travel. The end of the 1st season featured the arrival of Rex Tyler a.k.a. Hourman (Patrick Adams) who is from the Justice Society of America which will be a big focus in Season 2. The show will also be taking part of the 4-show crossover between The Flash, Supergirl and Arrow.
At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, TV Overmind participated in the Legends of Tomorrow Press Room with several outlets to chat with the cast and crew behind the show to get some insight into what is coming in Season 2. Arthur Darvill , who plays Rip Hunter, and Maisie Richardson-Sellers, who will be joining the show this year as Amaya Jiwe a.k.a. the 1st Vixen, were two of the great talents we spoke with as they teased what’s happening in the 2nd season and what’s coming up for our time traveling legends and the new additions.
Highlights of the interview:
-The dynamic that Rip and Vixen will have when they get introduced to each other.
-Richardson-Sellers’ process of getting into the role from watching Megalyn E.K.’s work on the animated series and on Arrow.
-Whether or not we have seen the last of Rip’s more personal side as he tends to keep a lot of information about himself very private.
-If fans should be looking into the fact that Rip’s real name is Michael, which just so happens to be the name of his father Michael Jon Carter a.k.a. Booster Gold in the comics.
-How different her Vixen costume is, compared to Mari’s, as Amaya comes from a different time where maybe the costume might have a different feeling to it.
