The CW might be getting a few new pilots for the 2011-2012 season. With the end of Smallville in spring 2011, that opens up a spot on the schedule. Of course, another show may not last after the season, but we’ll have to see about that. Earlier today we announced that another book by The Vampire Diaries author was being developed into a pilot. We’ve also heard that Marti Nixon (who formerly worked on Buffy and Angel) is working on another series.
Now E!Online is reporting that Michell Trachtenberg, who’s appeared on Buffy and Gossip Girl for Warner Bros. has teamed up with Gossip Girl producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage for a new series. Trachtenberg is set to produce the show and star in it. According to E!Online and Michelle’s rep:
“Trachtenberg has joined forces with producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage under their shingle Fake Empire for this one hour drama,” Michelle’s rep tells us. “They pitched Michelle’s idea to Warner Brothers Studio, [which] bought the pitch right then and there, and immediately took it to the CW, [which] bought it in the room.”
Insiders confirm Deadline’s item stating that Untitled Michelle Trachtenberg Project is about “a young criminology student with a dark past and a knack for profiling suspects.”
Michelle also said that the show will be an hour-long drama. Will this remind CW fans of Veronica Mars?
