Midsomer Murders: John Nettles' Top 10 Episodes Coming to DVD

Acorn Media has announced that it will be releasing Midsomer Murders: Barnaby’s Top 10 on DVD October 4. The set includes former star John Nettles’ ten favorite mysteries from his long tenure on the series. Nettles, who departed from the show earlier this year, played the lead role of DCI Tom Barnaby on the series from its beginning back in 1997.

The Barnaby’s Top 10 set will include episodes introduced by Nettles and his original sidekick Daniel Casey. In these introductions Nettles will share “witty and revealing production anecdotes from the first six seasons of the bestselling series.” The following episodes will be included in the set:

How It All Began: The Killings at Badger’s Drift
Favorite Story Line: Blue Herrings
Favorite Leading Lady: A Worm in the Bud
Best Location: Dark Autumn
Funniest Moments: Dead Man’s Eleven
Most Intriguing Crime: Death of a Hollow Man
Most Difficult to Film: The Electric Vendetta
Most Dramatic Episode: Murder on St. Malley’s Day
Most Bizarre Episode: A Talent for Life
Favorite Episode: Strangler’s Wood

The set is retailing for $99.99, which isn’t that hefty considering that all ten mysteries are feature-length. TVOvermind will have a review of the set next month. In the meantime, you can pre-order the set here.
