As 2014 ends and we head into 2015, one of the most anticipated events of new year is the premiere of Orphan Black Season 3. After the show’s second season finale provided the major twist that there were also militarized male clones (played Ari Millen) created instead of just the female ones that we have gotten to know over the past two years, Orphan Black fans have been eager to see what will happen next. Now, we have a bit of a taste of what’s to come in this new teaser trailer for Orphan Black Season 3, which doesn’t provide any new footage, really, but does promise one thing: “This is war.”
Although we don’t know too much yet about the upcoming season, we do know about the slew of new characters that Orphan Black Season 3 will be introducing us to, like Ferdinand (played by James Frain), “a well-educated, ‘cleaner’ who is both charming and intimidating” and “a powerful player in a secretive, multi-national political faction that operates with questionable ethics and a ruthless approach.” Additionally, Lost Girl‘s Ksenia Solo has been cast as Shay, “a soulful and compassionate holistic healer with a great sense of humor destined to become a new friend to Cosima,” while Kyra Harper (Warehouse 13) is set to play Dr. Coady, “a ruthless doctor and advisor to the military,” who is “outwardly the soul of reason, but her maternal, nurturing manner conceals an agenda that even her superiors do not suspect.”
Plus, we also have Shameless star Justin Chatwin in a recurring role as the street-smart Jason Kellerman, “a savvy drug-dealer in the guise of a charismatic businessman,” and Earl Pastko (Murdoch Mysteries) as Bulldog, “Ferdinand’s silent, imposing and violent personal bodyguard. Communicating with his boss by looks only, Bulldog carries out the dirty work of his shady employers.”
Orphan Black Season 3 premieres on April 18, 2015 on BBC America. Check out the new teaser trailer below.
