Stan Lee has entered the storm of accusations that have been going around Hollywood and he denies them all. There’s a good reason for this however if you read the article. He’s not being accused by an actress or any other individual in the business though, he’s being accused by nurses that have come to his home to take care of him, and at this time he and his legal team could be describes as livid since the allegations of the things he’s done are being used as an attempt to ruin his name and his reputation. Even worse, it could possibly affect the MCU if such a thing were to be true. And why don’t I believe it’s true?
For one, the nursing company that is working with him at the moment says he’s been nothing but kind and polite to the nurses that come to care for him. They say that he’s respectful and very attentive. Now from the view of a cynic that could be because he got caught by the other firm and is now playing the good guy so as to dispute the claim that he had anything other than good intentions with any other nurses. That would imply that he’s on his best behavior as of now and could go back to the way that he’s being described as having been after the heat dies down. Such a thing might be possible but it just doesn’t fly all that well since it’s a very tired old story and one that isn’t true a good percent of the time.
The second point is the old monetary compensation or they’ll to the press scheme. This is called a shakedown and it’s one of the things that is effectively undermining any women’s movement that is trying to get off the ground. The nursing firm that has accused Lee of improper conduct has apparently demanded that they be compensated in a monetary fashion or that they will go to the media and tell just what Mr. Lee did to their nurses and how horrible he was. Were that the case they could gain more support by simply going to the press and shouting as loud as it took for anyone to hear them about what their nurses had been through with Lee in his home.
According to their reports he’s kind of a lecherous old man that gropes them, walks around naked, and tries to proposition them for sexual pleasure. Not only has that put a really nasty image in my head but it’s something that just doesn’t seem to fly with the old man, at least not in the manner that the nursing firm is stating happened. Plus if this new firm were to notice anything untoward they would have surely backed up the accusers and stated that Lee is in fact harassing them as well. For some that act this way it’s a habit that they can’t easily break. But to ask for money while saying something along the lines of “or else” is far too suspect to take seriously.
