For anyone who pondered who the child of Klaus Mikaelson would grow up to be, that question will soon be answered. When The Originals returns for its fourth season, a significant amount of time will have passed and Klaus and Hayley’s sweet baby girl is no longer a baby. Summer Fontana takes up the role of the youngest Mikaelson, now 7 years old. Five years will have passed when the series returns, and we’ll get to see if Hope really is her father’s daughter. Given her dad’s many vices, the witches and vampires of New Orleans may need to be scared Hope takes after daddy.
When we last left off, each member of the original family was either captured and confined to a coffin, and Klaus no longer had the ability to control his bloodline. The only advantage they have is Hayley, who has spent the last five years raising hear daughter while trying to find a way to free her family. Rumor has it Hayley has been gathering allies in the werewolf community since they were outcast when vampires and witches retook control of New Orleans. In the preview video below, we see a good confirmation of that in the form of Jackson’s grandmother Mary. There would be very few people Hayley could put her trust in, so leaning on her pack makes the most sense.
In the video we also see and hear Hope Mikaelson for the first time since that ominous Comic-Con preview. Just like that 5 second teaser where Hayley promises they will save daddy, Hayley reiterates her commitment to her daughter, stating “I’ll be back very, very soon, and I won’t be alone.” If Klaus isn’t royally ticked about being locked up for five years, missing his daughter’s childhood should be enough to put him in a murderous mood. That’s not even counting what we don’t know about how Hope’s supernatural abilities have developed.
