Why Scandal Won’t Be On ABC Tonight

“No More Blood” – (ABC/Adam Taylor)

I regret to inform you all that ABC’s hit series “Scandal” will not be on air tonight. The network will be taking the week off and mixing things up on March 3 to premiere their newest drama, “The Family”.

For my Shonda Rhimes stans, not to worry – both “Grey’s Anatomy” and “How To Get Away With Murder” will be on at their scheduled times of 8 and 10pm EST.

“The Family” involves the Warrens – Dad John (Rupert Graves), mom (Joan Allen), and kids Willa (Alison Pill), Danny (Zach Gilford) and Adam (Liam James). The family lived a pretty average life until their son Adam was kidnapped…

10 years after his disappearance, Adam suddenly reappears. The family is happy to learn that their son is alive and back after so many years of mourning, but this isn’t exactly a family reunion. Much has changed since Adam’s disappearance; the man convicted for Adam’s murder, neighbor Hank Asher (Andrew McCarthy) is still behind bars and the detective of the case Nina Meyer (Margot Bingham) has maintained a successful career ever since. Claire is also running for Governor of Maine and definitely didn’t anticipate Adam’s reappearance. Where will things go from here?

The show’s regular slot is Sunday at 9pm EST. and those who anticipate episode 2 can expect to watch it Sunday, March 6 at 9pm EST.

Fans of TGIT were left off on Episode 12 of “Scandal” right before all hell broke loose. Fitz and Jake have both been moving on from their entangled feelings for Olivia Pope. A reporter named Lillian (Annabeth Gish) has been a full-on distraction for Fitz and his presidential responsibilities. Meanwhile, Jake has a new girlfriend that Olivia found out from who other than Papa Pope. Despite Olivia’s accomplishments with Nellie’s book, she’s becoming distracted as well by obsessing over Jake’s new lady – Vanessa Moss.

But the jaw-dropper was the foul play in the Oval Office. Cyrus (Jeff Perry) tricked us all with his desperate attempt to remain in the White House with a plan involving kidnapping a man’s son and forcing him to hold Pennsylvania Governor Francisco Vargas (Ricardo Chavira) at gun point.

“Scandal” will return to its scheduled time, next Thursday, March 10 at 9pm EST. In episode 13, expect more trouble with Abbey (Darby Stanchfield) keeping Fitz focused and Jake to begin revealing a few secrets of his own..
