“Stranger Things” Season 3 Is Already in the Works

The only problem with live streaming is the temptation to binge watch your favorite shows or to take in a new series in one day. Binging has become the new thing in television viewership and while other media companies like Amazon are catching, we can mostly blame Netflix for this rising trend. If you are a sci-fi fan, there is a good chance that you have become captivated by ‘Stranger Things.” In fact, I have friends who watch it because they believe that sci-fi is actually a more accurate depiction of what is really going on in our world when compared to the information shared through the mainstream media.

There are some of you who are likely sitting there reading this as you experience a high level of regret due to the fact that you have already binge-watch the entire second season of ‘Stranger Things.’ Don’t be too hard on yourself, it happens to the best of us. Fortunately, for you, the Duffer brothers are already at it again. That is right, they are currently working on the creating the content for season three of the popular series.

As it turns out, the show was renewed for an additional two seasons before the second season aired its first episode, which speaks to the popularity of the show. According to some of the industry experts, the manner in which the last chapter ended opened the door for additional chapters to be added and not negatively impacted. Open-ended writing is a concept that allows shows to remain alive after they have achieved their arc. In this case, it has open the door for a new group of episodes to be created for the fans of the show.

There are still elements of the original chapter that you will see in Season 2, for those who have not seen all the episodes like the binge-happy people I know. While there was an urge to interrupt the notion of ending the show on a happy note, the writers determined that it was important to relay the idea that the what everyone thought was gone is actually still out there, and it is in the Upside Down. More importantly, the Mind Flayer is keenly cognizant of the kids, and this is especially true of Eleven.

So, while the traditional route of ended a chapter or season is to leave a sense of mystery in the mind of viewers, this season ended as more of a warning of what is to come. It is easy to take away the idea that this Mega Monster’s next move will be to seize control of Eleven and her superpowers. This could be the next progressive step since it failed to take over Will’s mind.

Although it is clear that there will be new installments of this series, Netflix has not yet set a release date for season three as of yet. The fact that the release date has not been set could simply be Netflix’s way of building the suspense leading up to the premiere.
