The Sleep Habits of Your Favorite Superheroes

We can all agree that there would be a lot of perks to having some of the superpowers of our favourite comic book heroes. Consider for a moment just how handy it would be to be able to fly like Superman, climb buildings like Spiderman or run at the speed of light like The Flash. At the very least, you’d probably never be late for anything. However, as Uncle Ben once said, “With great power comes great responsibility” and it’s fair to say no superhero has a cosy normal life without also having to deal with their fair share of crime fighting.

Alter Egos

In fact, the majority of our favorite heroes tend to split their time in half. On the one hand they try to lead a relatively normal life as their alter ego, and on the other hand, use the rest of their time to keep evil forces at bay. All of the crime fighting usually mean they struggle to find the time to enjoy some of the simple pleasures we do.

For example, there’s probably very few nights when Matt Murdoch (Daredevil) finds the time to stop being a lawyer or fighting Hell’s Kitchen’s worst of the worst in order to binge-watch Game of Thrones.

Superheroes and Sleep

Many of them are so busy battling bad guys that they can’t even find the time to get some well-earned sleep. This means that they have to find ways to cope with saving the world on very little rest. The guys at SleepyPeople.com have created a great infographic which charts how many of them survive with a little sleep each year. It’s called ‘The Sleep Habits of Your Favorite Superheroes’ and you can take a look for yourself at the bottom of this page.

Find out how the Dark Knight survives on power naps, how Thor copes with sleeping just one day per year and plenty more superhero sleep facts.
