Tia and Tamera Mowery are heading back to your TV screens, but this time they’re going to keep it rel.
Deadline has announced that Style Network has given a six-episode order for Tia and Tamera Take 2, a docu-series, which will follow the twins as they prepare for huge milestones in their personal lives. Tia, who is now married to actor Cory Hardrict, is now expecting her first child, while Tamera is preparing to tie the knot with FOX News correspondent Adam Housley. Both of these events will be the focus of the show and how each twin deals with it. I smell a winner already.
The show will be sort of a continuation of a special of the same name that aired last summer. Salaam Coleman Smith, the president of the Style Network, said the special performed well with the cable network’s viewers, garning “incredible positive” feedback with fans. I would say that’s good enough reason for a another extended go round.
Tia and Tamera are childhood staples for kids of the 90s with their popular TV show, Sister, Sister, which ran for six seasons, one on ABC and the last five on The WB, where it concluded it’s run in 1999. The twins have remained in the public eye since their stints on Sister, Sister, having appeared in the Disney movies “Twitches” and “Twitches Too” before branching off on their own. Tia is now the star of the BET hit The Game and Tamera had regular role on Lifetime’s Strong Medicine. The two recently appeared in the Lifetime Movie “Double Wedding,” which they also produced.
Expect Tia and Tamera Take 2 to air late this summer.
