America’s Next Top Model will be moved from its longtime Wednesday at 8:00 timeslot starting April 20th. Where will it go, you ask? To 9:00 on the same night with repeats of the previous week’s episode playing at 8:00.
I’m alright with this move. Having the previous week’s show as a lead in may boost ratings a little bit (seriously, how often have you started watching Top Model reruns and then before you know it, you’ve watched an entire season?) and the CW doesn’t have a tremendous amount of programming options once Shedding for the Wedding finishes next month. It’s tougher competition for Top Model (they’ll now be facing Modern Family, Cougar Town, and the last hour of Idol, among others), but it’s still one of the CW’s top programs and I think it’ll be able to survive. Burbank, CA (March 16, 2011) – Scheduling update: “AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL” moves back an hour, to 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT on Wednesdays, beginning April 20 through the remainder of its 16th cycle. This change goes into effect the week after the season finale of “SHEDDING FOR THE WEDDING,” which airs Wednesday, April 13 at 9:00-10:00 p.m.
Also starting on April 20, encore presentations of the previous week’s “Top Model” will air Wednesdays at 8:00-9:00p.m, as the lead-in to the original episodes.
The cycle 16 winner of “AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL” will be announced during the season finale on Wednesday, May 18.
