So if you know anything about Def Leppard you know that they were formed in 1977 but didn’t really get popular until the 1980’s and on through the 90’s. If you grew up listening to this band and some of their biggest hits then you had a great childhood and adolescence because they tore the roof off the place every time they played. Their song Bringing On the Heartbreak wasn’t the first ever music video on MTV but it was one of the many that first graced the station that once upon a time was where you could find the hottest music. Now you find a bunch of reality shows that people like for some reason. Their name was a play on Deaf Leopard and was created to give them less of a punk band feel, or so it goes.
Whatever the case these guys were one of the most awesome bands to ever come across the screen and fill a concert hall.
5. Rock of Ages-Bringing On the HeartbreakÂ
The song budget for this film had to be enormous considering how many different tracks had to be used throughout feature. Thankfully they were all well-placed and were able to at least give the film some credibility since it didn’t do all that well overall. Even had its box office numbers been that great it wouldn’t have been given many, if any, awards by fans.
4. Balls of Fury-Rock of Ages
Who knew Ping Pong could be a life or death sport? It’s definitely a game that takes some skill and some speed to really get the hang of it since it’s more than just hitting the ball back and forth on the table. If you can spin that sucker just right then the person on the other side of the table better know what they’re doing in order to make it a game.
3. Coyote Ugly-Pour Some Sugar On Me
Coyote Ugly is definitely a bar I want to go to before I die. It’s not just the women that work in these places, okay it’s partially that, but it’s the atmosphere that I’ve seen from a distance that would draw me and any other person in to see the show and enjoy themselves with a cold one or a shot just waiting to be knocked back. It would be something you wouldn’t forget.
2. Lip Sync Battle-Pour Some Sugar On Me
I had to put this song on twice because quite simply it’s that great. Growing up I can still recall listening to this song over and over and getting the words so horribly wrong that upon learning the lyrics I had to laugh. Def Leppard has been one of those bands that you can’t help but love for at least one song, and then possibly more once you listen to them.
1. Encino Man-Let’s Get Rocked
Def Leppard did make their way into the 90’s but it was here that they started to wane just a bit in their popularity. The music industry was changing and their sound wasn’t so much. It was still kind of stuck in the 80’s even though it was still awesome. Thankfully there’s enough of us that really enjoy the older songs.
Take the bottle and shake it up.
