It was looking to me that the new season of Torchwood wouldn’t be premiering for another year — but that is very far from the case. As a matter of fact, the fourth season of the Doctor Who spinoff will be taking a leaf from the Time Lord, and premiering the same day in both the US and the UK. What day is that? July 1, 2011. That’s a Friday.
Cast additions for the new series  include Mekhi Phifer, Alexa Havins, and Bill Pullman, and will be more US-oriented than previous seasons, due to the fact that Starz and BBC One are jointly producing the project.
The BBC One timeslot is set at 9pm, while no timeslot for Starz has been announced.
I’m quite interested to see how Torchwood fares with the split, but either way it goes, it seems likely now that Miracle Day will have the same high quality as the previous season, Children of the Earth. It has, after all, been confirmed by Davies to be equally — if not more — dark than its predecessor.
