The 10 Most Overpowered Weapons In Video Gaming History

These days, nearly everyone has a thing for playing video games. It seems like it’s become a way to escape reality and in many cases, people spend so much time doing it that it becomes their reality. Some people even end up ditching their actual responsibilities so they can spend more time playing games, even to the point where they scarcely move unless it’s because the game requires it. Since the gaming community is so involved in what they do, there are a lot of people they have plenty to say about the way that certain games are designed. More specifically, a lot of people are critical of weapons that exist within certain games, even if that weapon only exists for a very small portion of the game itself.

Take the list below, for example. It involves what are commonly thought of as the 10 most overpowered weapons in video games. They come from a variety of different games and involve both single and multiplayer versions. Keep reading below, maybe you will recognize some of these weapons yourself.

1. The Pistol

This weapon is from Halo: Combat Evolved. Most people think it’s a problem because the pistol throws off the entire game.

2. Fierce Deity’s Mask

This weapon only exists in a relatively small portion of Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. Most gamers complain that getting the mask makes the rest of the game too easy, effectively taking all of the fun out of it.

3. The Knife

This one comes from Call of Duty and has been widely criticized by many gamers for throwing off the balance of the game.

4. AWP Rifle

This weapon from Counter-Strike just makes it too easy to get ahead in the game, often without putting forth much effort in order to do so.

5. The Concrete Donkey

This weapon shows up in The Worms. The name pretty much says it all, as there isn’t much left in the game after someone gets this weapon.

6. The BF

You can probably imagine what this weapon stands for. If you don’t already know, it means Big You-Know-What Gun. It’s in Doom and once you get it, you’re almost guaranteed to win.

7. PRL 412

This weapon from Resident Evil 4 takes most of the challenge right out of the game. That’s one reason why this version isn’t nearly as popular as previous versions were.

8. Spiked Blue Shell

The weapon, which is part of Mario Kart, is so powerful that it makes it hard to know what you are doing as a gamer. All you can really see is this thing flashing all over the screen.

9. Farsight XR-20

From Perfect Dark, this weapon just seems to ruin the whole game.

10. M6D Personal Defense System

This goes back to the pistol from Halo. It’s something that even the game’s developers agree was a mistake.
