Pneumatic Overwatch Doomfist Guantlet Made In Real Life With 2,600 Pounds Of Punching Force

Doomfist is one of the more recent characters to have been introduced to Overwatch, which is Blizzard Entertainment’s latest franchise. For those who are curious, Overwatch was announced using a video featuring some of the characters fighting over an object called Doomfist, which was perhaps unsurprisingly, a rather fancy gauntlet of some kind that was capable of punching much harder than it should’ve been able to. Initially, Doomfist wasn’t intended to be anything more than an useful object for the plot of the announcement video. However, as time passed, it became clear that the fans had become obsessed with the object to some extent, which in turn, convinced Blizzard Entertainment to turn it into something much more than just a plot device.

The result was, of course, the character called Doomfist. However, it is interesting to note that Blizzard Entertainment made a choice to make Doomfist a legacy name, meaning that the current name-holder isn’t the first person to use it in the Overwatch setting. Regardless, the current Doomfist is a man named Akande Ogundimu, a businessman who believes in using war as a crucible. As a result, it should come as no surprise to learn that he isn’t a part of the heroic organization called Overwatch but rather a member of its main opponent, the Talon group, thus making him one of the villains of the game.

What Has Overwatch Fans Made Based on Doomfist?

Now, the YouTube channel Hacksmith has released an episode focusing on their creation of a real life version of Doomfist the object rather than Doomfist the character. Granted, it is nowhere near as good as its fictional source of inspiration, but it is rather interesting nonetheless, see as how it is a 45-pound device that is supposed to be capable of delivering more than 2,000 pounds of punching force. As a result, those who are curious about the device should make sure to check out the Hacksmith video at their earliest convenience.
