Westworld Will Be The first TV show released in 4K resolution on Ultra HD Blu-ray

HBO has relayed a confirmation to the effect that Westworld Season 1 will come in not only Blu-ray/DVD, but will also offer 4K Ultra HD, which makes it the first TV show to feature a 4K Ultra HD release. The first release is set to hit the market in November 2017, and this will come as an opportunity to shape the future of film. It will make history for video and audiophiles for offering the first Ultra HD release in the film industry.

This might not sound like a major feat because Netflix has been streaming 4K Ultra HD for some time, but when you consider that Westworld is coming to home video, the changes made are a reflection that HBO has made a major step towards enhancing quality. The show will come in 4K Ultra HD across all formats. The sound has also been enhanced immensely to ensure it matches the tempo set by the new quality specifications.

Season 1 of Westworld is set to get to the market on November 7 and this will come with a price of $50 for the DVD, Blu-ray will cost $55, and the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray will cost you $65. All this has been done to enhance the viewership experience and considering the show has some of the best scenes and characters, at least from previews, then this is something to watch out for in the 2017 – 2018 season. However, apart from the quality enhancements, there is a lot more you need to know about Westworld.

Season 1 Episode 1 (‘The Original’)

Season 1 offers a lot more details about the show and one thing you can deduce from the trailers is that the setting of the season is not Western or located in North America. The show is a culmination of years of work and ballooning budgets, and with its high expectations it is set to enter the stage on a high note. The episode is described as a perfect piece of work that will set the stage for the rest of its episodes, so expect the first episode to be highly expressive of the things to expect later.

HBO Cast to watch

HBO also did a perfect job in the selection of cast to appear in the Westworld show. Some of the cast members who will make an appearance include Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachael Wood, Ed Harris, James Marsden, Jeffrey Wright, Thandie Newton, Shannon Woodward, Rodrigo Santoro, Simon Quarterman, Ingrid Boslo Berdal, and Lili Simmons.

The premise

One key question to pose is where reality and technology intersect and how this will influence humanity. While the original movie pursued consequences and not causes of androids gone wild, the current release might offer in-depth insight to help fulfill the consciousness of the script to the way it portrays reality and technology. It aspires to humanness while also upholding the effects of technology. It also triggers imagination and creates fascinating queries about humanity and things we are yet to understand about the universe. The previews released so far highlight an interesting portrayal that might trigger your thought process.
