If you had to pick a star from any upcoming show (think “Manifest“) that might be selected as someone that will eventually become a big star you might want to think about Luna Blaise. Her performance in the few projects she’s had to this date has been excellent enough that she’s been gaining attention, both good and bad, throughout her short run thus far. The limit of her abilities hasn’t been reached yet as it’s easy to see and there’s a lot more potential that she has yet to tap. To think that we get to watch as another individual spreads her wings on the way to greatness is pretty cool, even though a lot of us have seen a number of people do just that over the years. She’s got the talent, the desire, and the ambition to make her career work for her if she wants, and from all appearances at this time it seems that she does.
Here are a few things that you might not have known about her.
10. She’s had a love for acting since she was very young.
Luna has been making up characters and scenarios that she’s acted out since she was a little girl, and it didn’t take long for her family to notice that she was very passionate about what she was doing. At that point it was a matter of her family encouraging her to do what she wanted, which they obviously did.
9. She started doing commercials when she was five.
Unless one gets inordinately lucky or proves from a young age that they’re able to take on the pressures of acting, commercials and a few other venues seem to be the way to go since they can offer a bit of experience in a controlled environment that allows people to get used to being directed and to the life of an actor in a smaller way.
8. She’s a part of the show Manifest.
The idea behind this show is interesting since it almost feels akin to a Stephen King story but without the unrelenting horror involved. The development of the characters however seems to be something that will continue long after the main crisis has been identified and the mystery begins to unravel.
7. She’s received a lot of hate mail and death threats in her time.
Who in the world sends hate mail and death threats to a young person that’s not old enough to drink yet or even vote? The kind of folks that do this based on her appearance or role in a movie or show are typically those that can’t separate fantasy from reality and are usually best ignored.
6. She doesn’t have an issue portraying gay characters on screen.
The one thing she did insist on before getting into the role was to study the LGBT community and everything that went with it in order to really understand and do justice to the character she played when she came out. That’s a wise move to be certain since it’s not all that polite to portray a character from such a community without knowing just what they go through and how to react on screen.
5. She has plans to eventually produce and direct as well as act.
Ambition is the key in acting it seems since a lot of actors have gone on to be producers and some have even taken the directors chair a time or two in order to see how they fare behind the camera. It might take a little while for her to get there but so long as she has a clear path set in mind then there’s nothing that should be able to stop her.
4. She hasn’t done a whole lot in her career just yet.
Her resume isn’t all that long given that she hasn’t been acting for that many years compared to many people in the business. She’s got time though since there are a lot of years between now and possible retirement when she’s much older.
3. She’s 17 years old.
Despite being sold on an acting career at this time a young person still has to experience their life and take things fairly slow in order to really get the experience they need and the kind of life they desire. While teenagers her age and older or younger have become some of the richest people in the world all that money is still not quite as valuable as getting their education and learning the type of wisdom that takes years to develop.
2. She’s also a singer.
Luna has released a single and it sounds as though she could have a promising musical career if she wanted it as well. It’d be so easy to be jealous but it’s also pretty easy to be happy for her and the prospects she has for her career moving forward.
1. She was in Fresh Off the Boat.
This is the show where her character came out to her best friend and it was a turning point in her career, but one that hasn’t had any huge ramifications since she’s still gaining in popularity with each appearance.
Luna Blaise is going to be a big star, just wait and see.
